Angelina Jolie’s Thailand Spa
Posted on Apr 29 2008 6:52 AM by adnana

Thailand has hundreds of spas to choose from, and these days they range from the breathtakingly expensive to the bargain priced. As with everything, the amount of money you pay doesn’t necessarily reflect the quality of experience you get - the places where you tend to have the best time are those where the owners and staff of the business really care about your wellbeing, even if their surroundings are quite humble.

Angelina Jolie opted for the modest but stunningly beautiful Sukantara spa, hidden away in the hills of Chiang Mai. While the likes of David Beckham and Kate Moss head for self-consciously super luxury spas in Thailand such as Chiva Som in Hua Hin, Angelina opted for somewhere more discreet while visiting Thailand back in 2004 along with her son Maddox. Evidently she enjoyed her stay, as shown by her handwritten testimonial (click the button marked ‘testimonial’ to see it) and the couple of photos of her at the resort on the spa’s own site.

Panama Canal cruises can be part of an extended cruise that includes other destinations over a stretch of time, or can simply be one-day affairs allowing visitors already based in Panama to enjoy this country’s greatest attraction. Other Panama Canal tour options are available as well, but there isn’t anything quite like getting to actually sail on the famed waterway. Scores of cruise lines offer Panama Canal cruises which embark from a number of ports. Generally, the best time to take Panama Canal cruises is right after the end of November, which also signals the end to the rainy season. Major cruise lines tend to offer at least a handful of Panama Canal cruises every year, so you will have a healthy list of options to choose from. As the cruise industry continues to develop new routes and itineraries, the Panama Canal will surely continue to figure as a prominent Central American destination. It sure makes for a travel experience worthy of bragging rights.

Albufeira is quite simply Portugal's version of Spain's Benidorm, a town dedicated to supplying the downmarket British punter with everything he might want, from eggs and bacon for breakfast to big-screen football with fish and chips for dinner. Pile 'em high, sell 'em low, Albufeira is a place to play hard at the right price and live the lifestyle the foreign way.

It is a mere three-hour flight from the UK, with over 14 flights a day to the main airport in Faro. Add to this that it boasts almost all-year sun, has great beaches and low prices, then you can understand why just over a million and a half UK visitors made the journey there last year. Heading To Australia And The Great White Sharks
Posted on Apr 28 2008 1:54 AM by adnana

I’m off Down Under for two weeks to go cage diving with the great white sharks, amongst other things. I’ll be diving with Rodney Fox, who has spent the last 40 years researching great whites after being attacked by one himself.

I’ve been dreaming about this all year and the time has finally come. Tomorrow I’m off to Australia to go diving with great white sharks. Back in December 2006 I did an interview with Rodney Fox by email for Scuba Diver AustralAsia magazine. Rodney is one of the world’s foremost authorities on great white sharks and has run expeditions for the last 40 years to research them - after being attacked himself by a great white and needing over 400 stitches to survive. It’s a miracle he pulled through and even more remarkable that he dedicated his life to finding out more about these fearsome but fascinating creatures.

Irish Castles
Posted on Apr 28 2008 1:47 AM by adnana
Filed Under: Europe , United Kingdom ,

No trip to Ireland would be complete with exploring at least a handful of Irish castles. Some travelers plan their Ireland trip around castle visits, trying to fit in as many beautiful, medieval Irish castles as possible. Whatever your desired route may be, from Dublin to the Ring of Kerry, you can most likely find an Irish castle nearby. Be sure to bring a jacket, as these medieval Irish castles can be drafty, especially in autumn and winter. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a camera, and maybe even a notebook to jot down some of the more interesting legends and stories.

One favorite Irish castle is the famous Blarney Castle located in Blarney Village, about 8 km northwest from Cork City in the southern Ireland. Over the years, it has become a world landmark and one of Ireland’s most popular attractions. Many travelers believe that a trip to the medieval Blarney Castle can’t be missed; it’s on par with the Guinness Brewery and other attractions as an intrinsic symbol of Ireland and Irish heritage. The Blarney Castle also contains the Blarney Stone. According to legend, kissing the stone will grant you eternal eloquence.

LA Movie Studio Opens Door to Fans

Visit Los Angeles and you're sure to come across movies being made -- whether out in the street by your hotel or in one of several studios that are open for studio tours.

Today most of the studios are closed to the public except when audiences are needed for live shows or when the call goes out for extras to populate various movie scenes. But there are several that do allow tours, including some where the chances are good you'll see a real movie star.

The granddaddy of movie studio tours has to be Universal Studios Hollywood, which now includes its movie studio tour as just one small part of a Disneyland-like theme park with elaborate rides and attractions all having something to do with the movies. Built along a hillside in Universal City, the theme park has grown over the years incorporating new attractions that match up with some of the hottest movies produced at Universal.

Bali offers a potent mix of hospitable people, a visually bewitching culture, and enticing beaches that appeal to surfers, divers, and standard-issue beachcombers alike. There's something for everyone here, and despite the waves of tourists that wash up on the beach, Bali still offers a level of peace that you simply won't find anywhere else. It's no wonder that most international visitors to Indonesia ignore everything else and head straight for Bali's shores.
