After leaving Perth for Kununurra I was glad to see that the weather on my arrival was nice and hot, as Perth was starting to get a little chilly. I was met by the guys from the farm and given a ute so that I could get around and sort out the house that they had supplied me. To my surprise I was given a 5 bedroom house with 2 bathrooms.

Not really getting any sleep whatsoever, Andre and Franny came over to pick us up in the middle of the night for our trip to the airport. Slightly overestimating the time it would take we arrived with plenty of time for a coffee and a bite to eat with them before an emotional goodbye - you know we'll really miss you guys!

I know, two blog entries waiting for you on waking up! But don't get to excited, as you can see, today's entry isn't gonna be a barrel of laughs. After the Thermal Village, we both went to bed early-ish to get up at five to hopefully get a full day's hiking up at Mount Ngauruhoe, which was used by Peter Jackson as Mount Doom in Lord of the Rings. We're both pretty psyched about this, me for the hike and Jason for the location.

I'm not usually big on bus tours (I like to travel on my own schedule - not someone else's!), but this is one place where you should ditch the rented Toyota. The Aupouri peninsula is the narrow neck of land in the far north of New Zealand. The most famous attractions are Ninety Mile Beach, on the west coast, and Cape Reinga, at the end.

We arrived in New Zealand 10 days ago. We met up with our third companion, Nate Wucherpfennig, at the airport in Christchurch. After renting a 6 berth campervan and figuring out how to run a manual diesel beast of a truck with the stick on the left hand side and getting used to driving on the wrong side of the road we were on our way.

My next few days in Byron Bay passed quite uneventfully, mainly due to the constant, torrential rain which pretty much stopped us from venturing out of doors for anything but neccessary trips! You would step outside and be drenched within 30 seconds, even an umbrella helped very little because it was that annoying sideways rain that gets you no matter what!

Elliott:Yep, as you can see from the title, me and Jason did something wonderful/amazing/stupid yesterday after he had finished his blog entry... Before I forget: If you haven't already, subscribe to the blog! There's a link on the main page (www.mytb.org/jason-and-elliott) which just asks for your e-mail address. Whenever we write a new entry, it'll e-mail to let you know. We're moving out of Rotorua tomorrow.

There are advantages and disadvantages to blagging a VIP pass to a high profile event. On the opening night of the Queenstown Festival my official photographer (er, Tim) and I were invited to the Festival Launch Party. All the official sponsors were present, suited and booted, and they all seemed to know each other.

Having spent the night in our campervan at Hervey Bay we woke up early to make our way to Tin Can Bay so we could go and feed the dolphins that come into the bay there every morning. Unfortunately we arrived about fifteen minutes too late and only saw the one dolphin, Harmony, who is still very young and not ready to be fed by the public. Harmony's father Mystique had been fed and had already left the bay.

Well what a saga Ipswich was!! Ipswich is a suburb of Brisbane and is where I went to do my solo skydiving training (AFF Training) with Brisbane Skydiving Centre, which is owned and operated by Brian Scoffell along with all his staff, 'Spready', 'Kiwi', 'Belg', Clayton and Anna to name but a few! The course was intended to be 9 stages with a solo jump on each stage with instructors jumping with you just in case you encounter difficulties.

So, AH! I can't believe this has gone by so quickly. I feel like I just got off the plane and saw my little room for the first time. Now it looks like it did before I put stuff on the walls, pretty bare and pretty boring. Anyways, Dad was here! He had a rough trip here, but we got to Uluru without any problems and had a really relaxing time. We both got hot stone massages (heaven!), watched the sunset over Uluru and had a tasty dinner, then the next morning we watched the sunrise and toured the rock.

Hey again, it has been a couple of weeks since my last post. I’ve done a lot and I figured it was about time to set up an update. First of all, the injury that I had while I was surfing in Sydney turned out to be what I suspected, a ruptured distal bicep. Two Tuesdays ago, the 17th of June, I had surgery to repair the injury. The procedure was to make about a 3 or 4 inch long “Z” shaped cut on the inside of my elbow, peel the skin back, grab the end of the tendon and then pull it back down to attach it further back down the arm to the bone.
