The number “nine” in Thailand is regarded by all Thai people as an auspicious number. The date yesterday was 9.9.49 which made it a good day to do something special. So, all around Bangkok and the country, events were organized in honour of His Majesty The King’s 60th anniversary on the throne. At the new Suvarnabhumi International Airport, they organized a marathon on the runaway. Probably something you wouldn’t be able to do again once the airport opens later this month.
